Cool, glad it's not just me who thinks this.
Still cool overall, but the production is so overdone, it would best suit a pop song (and a bad one at that).
I'm not sure if I could attribute this type of production to pop music. Too hostile and alienated for that.

The production issues run right through the 777s, this just happens to be the worst of the 3. Thematic Emanation is where the production is at its best for the band, though Liber II and MoRT are also perfect for the type of music on said records.

Pfff whatever guys. I guess I jsut have a different set of ears because I fail to find something wrong with the production. Love the cold and harsh sound.

Sound production is a little thin and empty, though it does end up giving it a cold, abrasive feeling to it all. Not my favorite though... the Desanctfication sounds similar but I feel it applied this kind of sound more effectively. Overall, really good shit, but probably my least favorite of the trilogy.

Though the most retarded thing about this record is the decision to put Epitome 2 as the second track. This is this album's 'Procession of the Dead Clowns' so I urge anyone listening to this to shunt it right to the back. It's a perfect finisher.
You know I actually did a replay of this album last night and... just for the fuck of it, I made a playlist in my library that swapped Epitome II with VI, as you suggested should have been done in your review. Can't say I necessarily prefer it that way, but it was certainly interesting. I think both do work in a way though, as those more slow, epic finishers that sort of close the album out on that super transcendent note

It's been so long since I listened to this one now that I can't remember what II sounds like sounds like I should listen to it again though.

I have the first riff of II imprinted in the same spot in my brain where I keep my name, my mom's face and how Nutella tastes like.
