Feradur - Biography

Biography

Feradur is a band originating from Luxembourg playing Melodic Death Metal. The band's musical intention is to mix Old School Death Metal with catchy riffs in order to create their proper sound combining heaviness and epic melodies. Each song stands for itself but they all have a same contextual root: the decay of the human mind and the outcome of its pride and lunacy. Verdict: "Whatever place you call Hell, it ain't far away?". With these words begins the story of Feradur.

Formed in 2006, the band only found a first stable line-up in 2009. With the line-up came first songs and at the end of 2009 the band entered the DarkDeskStudios to record a 3-song disc called "Demoncracy", which was released in 2010. Lead guitarist and songwriter Simon Braschel left the band soon after this initial release and was replaced by Ben Schreiner. Feradur wrote more songs and played gigs all over Luxembourg and the neighbouring countries, preparing to record their first album.

In the process of creating the first full-length release, Ben parted ways with Feradur, leaving them his smash hit "Rotten Heart" behind. The song is a pure concentration of what the album would be about: hate, war, death, fear, madness, manipulation, exploitation. The symbolism of a modern "Pandora's box" appealed to the overall theme of the songs and thus the title "Epimetheus" was chosen. Meanwhile guitarist Dan Gloden had joined the band to keep the line-up complete, performing with Feradur during the release show of "Epimetheus" in 2015.

As soon as the album was released, longtime vocalist Yannick Gaasch left the band due to musical differences. In his footsteps followed Mario Hann, who produced the album. Due to his versatility, Feradur was now able to perform with 3 guitars, boosting the musical potential dramatically. After 4 long years of songwriting, recording and getting everything in place for the next release, Feradur is ready to unleash their second full-length album "Legion" on June 22nd 2019.
