I might give this a try. I probably wont hold this up high as the gold standard like many other people or react channels probably will, but it's worth a shot.

More uninspired, paint-by-numbers Knocked Loose. Chugchugchug, chugchugchug.

Well I guess use metal Stomers are in the minority since so many see this album as the second coming. While it's gone done a bit it's rated high on Sputnikmusic and it's rated super high on AOTY for example.

Feels like they try really hard to sound aggressive and brutal but it doesn’t sound authentic at all, it’s a bit too over the top for me

I find the whole structure quite irritating tbh, there's simply too much chugging going on for my taste, and far too many breakdowns. Perhaps just not to my taste

Listen. I'll be real. I don't often agree with a lot of album rankings/ratings on this website. And that's fine! But THANK GOODNESS I'm so glad to see a website where this MADLY overhyped album isn't getting slathered with undeserved praise and worship.

This album is just badly overcooked meat and potatoes surrounded by fancy accoutrements. Occasionally there are some interesting technical bits or the songs take an unexpected turn that makes you go, 'oh, okay, didn't see that coming, cool'. But at the end of the day, 90% of this album is recycled breakdowns one after the other. Like pretty much every metalcore band, Knocked Loose doesn't actually play any riffs! Just, palm-muted chugga chugga, ad infinitum, etc etc. Metalcore is a fundamentally uninteresting genre of music, and I think this album proves that beyond a point. You can dress it up real nice. You can even write songs competently. But at the end of the day? You don't have riffs. You're boring. Your album is boring. Your band is boring.

Metalcore is a fundamentally uninteresting genre of music…

There are lots of great metalcore albums that are way more interesting.

Good mix of breakdowns and riffs here too.

Seen some strong conflicting opinions about this album online. I don't find anything offensive about it, and some moments/songs are OK (I don't mind the song Take Me Home), but too much of it represents the 'macho bullshit' style of metal(core) that I find so dry: chugga-chugga palm-muted mid-tempo riffs with plenty of attitude, but little actually interesting or memorable in the way of groove, energy or chord sequence. As allluded to above by VileVick, this trend does seem to be what's popular among the masses; Code Orange and Malevolence are bands that I find to be similarly dry and unengaging, but they've both become among the most popular current-gen metalcore bands
