Have you ever waited at the shore and listened to the waves rolling in? There's something predictable in the familiarity of it, as you become accustomed to the sound of the movement of the water toward you and then away again. This is The Turn Of The Tides.

exactly what i think, a lot of blues and progressive elements here make them more varied than before, but the production could be far better than what have been.

A masterpiece, no doubt. Seeing as so much time has passed since Weiland I wasn't quite sure what to expect ... a totally new and different band? A revisitation of the many familiar Empyrium elements? It seems we received both as The Turn Of The Tides sounds like no other group but Empyrium yet it also sounds completely different than any of the band's previous four full-lengths - a legacy not only untainted but also crowned! This album will certainly end up being one of my favorites of the year.

After two spins I'd say it's a bit underwhelming. Hopefully it's a grower, because this was one of my most anticipated albums for sure.

Right now this really doesn't come close to the first two albums for me, sadly.

I agree mate, it's pretty good album but a 10? Not too convinced, I hope it's a grower too..

I thought this album was terribly bland and boring the first listen, but holy shit is it a grower. This is also my first experience with Empyrium.

So far its been a good listen, but sadly it pales in comparison to Empyrium's past releases both metal and neofolk. The first 3 tracks are excellent to say the least.

No, I actually like Noekk, but it is very different from early Empyrium. I was very skeptical about the new sound, but I ended up being pleasantly surprised!
