I welcome your opinions, even if they're negative!
edit: I added one new cover (Omega), and didn't want to open a new topic for it.

Not to bad, really good for a try to do a song sung by Khan. No one can ever reach to his capabilities, but a really nice go there

Thanks. yep Khan is really unique. I might have put more vibrato to my voice, but that would not be "me", but a person trying to impersonate Khan. On one hand it would not be original, but more importantly i could not achieve that with perfection.

Well well It was a good attempt! For any kind of critic - I shall go with the honest truth...

You don't ruin the song (which were my expectations), but I don't think your voice fit that kind of vocal genre or Kamelot to be more spesific. On the other hand I do hear potential, just a little more deeper practice and a little more preperation. Your version feels more like it was sanged in the shower. Also make sure to sing out the correct lyrics - noticed the slip in 2:05, the "I'm no longer a slave" part, cracked me up a little ^^

I might sound like an ass, but it's just to be frank with you

You might notice more of these comments from others, mainly because of those who watch the clip will be either a Kamelot "hardcore" or a big fan of Roy Khan's voice. I'm both. It's always fun to see people cover or make a tribute of Kamelots catalog - 8/10 fucks up really bad. You my friend are neither. You're not good, but you're not bad either

Cheers! And keep up the singing

Here are some of my favorits tributes of Kamelot:

@Itoc: No, you obviously don't like an ass to me. I sang heavy-power metal and hard rock in various bands. But i have not been singing for almost 3 years, and also it is my first attempt to cover a song and record it. My voice is not as intense as Khan's, and i did not try to impersonate him. I didn't expect anybody to comment like "omg you're better than Khan" or like that. I would be the first to say "your comment sucks" believe me I got satisfied from the result and wanted to share it. maybe some months later i may try another song from another band. It was fun for me, and yes as i was looking at the lyrics from the monitor, i had to sing like in a bathroom Thanks for the criticism. i will check your links tomorrow. Cheers. )

Cyber-Wolf, thanks

Well i dont know the original, so i dont "feel offended" by your vocal cover at all i can but tell you, that your voice is very nice...quite high-pitched, but unlike me, you are able to control it well (i have to resign to singing and began with growling )...thumbs up from me

@Itoc: I love harp, and thus i love that cover. I already knew abandoned with pianos and female vocals. That's pretty good. And finally, the latinesque karma cover is not my cup of tea. i didn't find it very creative either. it is a matter of an sudden idea. it just comes to your mind, if you have a good ear and good command of that genre. It is still enjoyable though.

And Lachy, Ellrohir, Glabrezu and Angel_Lament, thanks for your encouraging words. As i said, it is my first recording experience in this vein, and instead of recording it over and over, i preferred it to be more soulful and sincere. (though i admit that i could have done more preperation, like memorizing the lyrics). Thanks again!

Congratulations... you have very good and promising voice material... what you need to do is more training with it and I'm sure you can do miracles one day...Not everyone has the abilities to sing... This songs was nicely sung although there could be some improvements in quality and controlling the higher tones... but that comes by training...

Thank you Hobbit viggo. Yep i need more training you're right. BTW i uploaded one more vocal cover, which is Tears of the Dragon by Bruce Dickinson, who has been the major influence and inspirational force for me to sing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eyqK9J-ckxs

Not sure if anyone mentioned this but your nordic accent cuts through sometimes, just a detail, but its something to work on.
otherwhise, very well done... and very bravely done I might add.

Haha, see now that you are indeed from turkey
hm, maybe turkish and nordic accents are more alike than you expect when it comes to english?
never heard it before, but I really thought you had an nordic accent.
