German melodic death metal serpents Nyktophobia have informed us that on October 21 they will play in Coesfeld, Germany, and that this will be their last show with drummer Christian Timmer, who will step down after the show.

Christian Timmer announces: "Hello there, Christian speaking. I just want to inform you about a decision I made. After that, I want to explain the “Why?!” a little bit. I will quit drumming. So, I won’t be the drummer of Nyktophobia anymore. Now, the “Why?!”: People that know me know that I have a lot around my head at the time. I got a little baby girl, I bought a house, and I am currently making my dissertation. There are a lot of reasons one could say, “Oh, he just hasn’t got time”. But that is too easy for me. When you burn for something with all your heart, you will find the time. And that is exactly where my problem is. I don’t have any more fun playing the drums. [...] That has nothing to do with band internals. The probability is really high that without Nyktophobia I would have quite years sooner. [...] Ben, Micha, Phillip and Tomasz belong to the best bandmates anyone can hope for. I wish them only the best for the future, and I am looking forward to hearing every new creation."
