2022 Metal Storm Awards Now Open
The Metal Storm Awards can never arrive fast enough - for one full month of 2023, you've been waiting for our biggest event of the year (and we've been frantically scrambling to put it together). The wait is well worth it, though, because we seem to be the only publication on the internet that actually waits until the end of the year to post our end-of-year lists. You'd be surprised how many great albums slide under the door at the end of December.

Intronaut - Former Drummer Requests News Takedown
In May 2018, US post-metal band Intronaut parted ways with their drummer, Danny Walker, citing “recent activity that we as individuals have zero tolerance for” as the impetus for the split. In his own statement, Walker, who has also performed with Cephalic Carnage, O Zorn!, Phobia, Teeth, and numerous others, acknowledged “serious allegations” of him “being a woman beater” – that is, accusations of physical assault made by his ex-girlfriend.

Metal Storm - Announcing New Terms Of Use, Paid Membership Plans
Dear readers, today marks a great change for Metal Storm as an institution and as a community. For over 20 years now, we have been a leading voice in the metal underground, providing invaluable resources for music fans through our database, forums, publications, and more. Up until now, we have managed to do this without asking anything in return, powering through year after year purely for the love of the craft. Metal Storm has always operated on a volunteer basis, never motivated by profit, and we had hoped that this would always be the case. Unfortunately, as we have seen over the last year, times change.

2020 Metal Storm Awards - Voting Is Closed
Another February has been remanded to the custody of memory, and one of the most exciting editions of the Metal Storm Awards is now naught but a matter of record. The MSAs continue to expand slowly; if we can just pull Symphonic up to ten nominees next year (and we'll make an effort, we promise), we could hit a full 260 nominees in total (272, counting the Clandestine Cuts). We'll see how things go, but for now, thank you once again for taking the time to listen, vote, and enjoy all this music with us. Discuss the results below.
