Warbringer - Former Bassist Rejoins

US metallers Warbringer have issued the following update on their MySpace blog:

"Returning from a five-week European tour earlier this month the guys in Warbringer are enjoying their first break in schedule in quite some time due to a relentless touring and recording schedule that has seen the band release two albums and criss-cross the US, Canada and Europe nine times in 18 months.

With three weeks of respite the band has decided to replace bassist Ben Bennett with original bass player Andy Laux. Andy recorded the group's debut, "War Without End", but was unable to join his band mates for any of the touring due to him still being in high school. Now with his studies complete Andy has been focusing on sound engineering and even built his own home garage studio but will rejoin the guys for future touring and recording.

Andy had this to say, "After parting ways with Warbringer a year-and-a-half ago I never would have seen this coming but circumstances have left the band in need of someone to handle bass duties. When I was asked to fill the position how could I refuse? The members of Warbringer are my good friends and (literally) my family so the choice was obvious, I look forward to catching up with the fans, seeing some familiar faces, but most of all thrashing every venue this side of the solar system!"

Guitarist, and older brother, John Laux added, "I'm happy to have my brother back in the band and to share some of the experiences I've been able to witness firsthand. The band has decided to part with bassist Ben Bennett due to a few serious personal and offstage issues we've encountered on the road. We thank him for all his contributions to the band, the album and the touring and we all wish him the best of luck with any future endeavors."

Warbringer will be playing a couple shows in Mexico on August 28 and 29, before embarking on the Obituary, Goatwhore, Krisiun, The Berzerker tour starting on September 3rd.

Tour dates and more information at this location."

Warbringer - Recording New Album

While earning a reputation as road warriors, Warbringer have spent the last two months at home working on new material that will comprise their second album. The five-piece are now prepared to enter the studio in January to record the follow-up to "War Without End", voted by Revolver Magazine as one of the best albums of 2008.

In mid-January Warbringer will play four shows in California previewing new material, including a show in Anaheim during this year's NAMM show, before entering Sharkbite Studios (Machine Head, High On Fire) in Oakland on January 19th with Exodus guitarist Gary Holt producing. The album will be mixed by Zack Ohren (All Shall Perish) at Castle Ultimate Studios.

Guitarist John Laux comments, "Since or last tour we've lead a very successful and creative campaign in the jam room collaborating on our next record. While staying true to our identity we have plenty of new tricks up our sleeves, including things we learned on the road, as well as showcasing Nic Ritter's explosive drumming. We're thrilled to be tracking in the Bay Area and we couldn't be more confident with Gary Holt as our producer to help us bring our music to life in a recorded format. Besides being a legend in the thrash scene, Exodus have always managed to produce records with a killer punch regardless of dismal musical climates. Also, we think Zack's experience in mixing and mastering will be excellent as he's worked on a number of very LOUD and FAST records."

Meanwhile Gary Holt had to this offer, "I am stoked to be producing the latest Warbringer record. I had a chance to hang out at rehearsal and listen to the new songs and their latest stuff is crushing! People will not be disappointed, that's a fact! The young guns are definitely stepping it up a notch or ten and it promises to be intense!"

Upon completion metal's most lethal live band will immediately hit the road beginning February 10th alongside Soilwork, Darkane and Swallow The Sun through the end of March leading straight into shows with Kreator, Exodus and Belphegor through May. Yes, the band will be playing over 100 North American shows to set up the new release while they continue to support their debut on what they've dubbed The Tour Without End.

Warbringer's new untitled affair is expected to be released in late May and the band plan to tour well into 2010.

Warbringer - Video Posted Online

Warbringer just completed a new video for the vicious track, "At The Crack Of Doom," with up-and-coming director Joe Hendrick. The clip is a savage, performance-based video that unleashes a fury of aggression and all-out thrash madness, which further proves how lethal this band is live. Head over to http://www.myspace.com/warbringer now to check it out.

John Laux (guitar) states: "We ended up performing "At The Crack Of Doom" at a very old, evil and torn-up building in the Mojave desert. This video is a performance piece like "Combat Shock," but we also had extras running around in hooded robes carrying torches as part of a post-apocalyptic cult or something. Needless to say, after working on the project we are very excited for its release."

In the meantime, Warbringer is continuing their undying worldwide campaign supporting their highly acclaimed debut offering, "War Without End", The band will hit the road again on October 1 supporting the legendary Overkill for a month-long North American assault. After Warbringer finishes their stint with Overkill, they will wrap-up the songwriting process for their much anticipated sophomore offering and then head into the studio to begin tracking. The band will then join up with Soilwork, Darkane and Swallow The Sun for an extensive tour that will last from January 30th through March 22nd. Feel free to visit http://www.myspace.com/warbringer to view their complete touring itinerary.

John Laux had this to say about the Overkill dates: "We couldn't be more excited to hit the road in support of fucking Overkill. It's been awhile since we've stopped by your town on a real, killer thrash bill. We hope to see all of our friends around the country for some good, violent and bloody old-school mayhem. We've been waiting a long time for this."

Warbringer - New Member Announced

Century Media press release:

"Upon returning home from their first European tour earlier this summer, in support of Napalm Death and Suffocation, Warbringer found itself one member short. While the group had just made touring bassist Ben Bennett official after six months of live shows together, since original bass player, Andy Laux, was still in high school, they now had to begin to replace then-drummer Ryan Bates after he informed them he wished to leave the band.

Fortunately, after putting a number of potential candidates through the wringer, the very talented Nic Ritter won the band over with his diverse and technical style. Ritter, 27, had been playing with progressive thrash act Prototype, a band whose song "The Way It Ends" was a bonus cut on Guitar Hero III, since relocating to LA from San Diego. He has also been keeping busy with his death/grind side-project, Bodybag Johnny. Warbringer's recent show in Mesa, Arizona was his first with the band and from all reports the group didn't miss a beat. You can catch a glimpse of his capabilities via the video here.

Ritter had the following to say about his induction into the band:
"I have been working at getting in a legit, professional band for a while now, and I feel this band is a great fit for me. We are already throwing around ideas for the next album and I can't wait to write and record it with the rest of the band. It's going to be brutal!"

Also speaking to the potential of the new album, Bennett added:
"I gladly look forward to contributing with riffs and songs for the new album. Oh and by the way, expect some fat bass in the future of Warbringer."

The band has also posted an entertaining video report from their past European tour with Napalm Death and Suffocation, so watch it now: here

Also, get your neck-muscles thrash-ready as after their kick ass performance at the prestigious Wacken festival, Warbringer will now be destroying European venues with All Shall Perish and label mates Sworn Enemy throughout August, see below for the exact dates."
